4 Simple Modifications for Dynamics NAV Users
Every user has their own unique preferences for working efficiently in Dynamics NAV. These preferences can include shortcuts to certain lists, or simplifying the data fields on the vendor or customer card. NAV has powerful features that enable end-users to create these simple modifications on their own.
Below are 4 simple tips NAV users can adopt into their workday:
1. Create Lists Shortcut
Create shortcut to lists (open purchase orders, sales invoices etc). For example if you want to view a list of all Open Purchase Orders only, all you need to do is Open Purchase Order list > Under filters, choose Status and set to ‘Open’, it will redirect you to all Purchase Orders that are open.

Once the filters are set, save the view by Pressing on ‘Purchase Orders’ > Save View as and provide a name for the view and activity group.

2. Hide Data Fields on the FastTabs
In case there are some data fields that you don’t need, all you have to do is to hide them. You can do this by opening the Card that you wish to edit > Go to customize > Customize this page > Choose FastTabs

Choose the specific FastTab that you want to modify > Press Customize FastTab > Once you get to the next window, you will be able to add or remove the data fields that you don’t need.

3. Customize Role Center
In order to customize the role center, go to the blue drop-down arrow > customize > customize this page.

If you wish to remove or add some parts of the role center (ex. My vendors, My notifications), just select and press either the add or remove buttons.

Other than that, if you want to remove or add selected data fields on the part, you can do this by using Customize part.

4. Change Icon Ribbon Size
If you feel like your icon ribbons look too small or too big, you have the option to change the size of the icons. You can do this by right clicking on the ribbon, then choose customize ribbon.

Choose the icon that you wish to be changed, then identify your preferred icon size.

These are just a few of the simple modifications that every NAV user can take advantage of.
