Attachment Properties in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 includes a user-friendly way to attach documents to the system.  A document could be anything from a bar code to a Terms & Conditions agreement.  But besides these improvements in document attachment, (the previous versions of GP were cumbersome at best), there’s also a neat feature called Attachment Properties within Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.

These attachment properties allow you to define the characteristics of the attachment, indicating whether or not it’s able to be emailed, for instance, or setting the flow characteristics of that attachment.

These attributes can be defined in Setup, almost as if you’re creating attachment “categories”.  Then assign an attachment it’s various attributes in Attachment Properties.  You can make use of this feature to classify attachments for easy reference, such as “Item Picture” or “Item Bar Code”.
