Convergence 2015: Giving Back to Our Host Community

Microsoft has always been huge community supporters. For several years now, Microsoft has organized a large volunteering event for Convergence attendees to participate in.

This year attendees have two opportunities to help give back to the people of Atlanta.

Sunday, March 15

Convergence has made it easier than ever to volunteer. Not only have they moved the usual ‘offsite’ project to just outside the Georgia World Congress Convention Centre, but you can choose one hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.

This year’s projects range from:

  • Framing walls that will be transported back to the famous Mason’s Lodge, where Martin Luther King Jr. had his office. The building will used for future in-house hospitality and retail
  • Building tables, benches, and pergolas that will go to multiple sites throughout the city
  • Framing a home
  • And much more!

At the Convergence Experience Centre

Convergence also offers the opportunity to give back to community at the Experience Centre . The projects found in the Experience Centre will help with neighborhood revitalization, homelessness, literacy, and combatting hunger.

Volunteering at Convergence is a great experience. They are incredibly organized and you get right to work when you show up – not a minute is wasted. You’ll feel great about helping the community and meet lots of new people – which is great for networking.

You can’t get much more positive than that!
