In this digital world, you may find that operations users of enterprise software expect features that are common in online and mobile platforms. The concept for the Vendor Rating Power App was inspired by a client request to provide a 5-star vendor rating mechanism inside Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management similar to what’s available on Amazon. Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management has a good non-conformance and quality order framework integrated into the procurement and inventory modules, but it is not intuitive for most buyers. By clicking on the Power Apps icon on the purchase order form, a user can easily add or view 5-star vendor ratings for delivery, quality and overall experience as well as add a quick comment. This can be done without any source code customization and the ratings are maintained and integrated into the Dataverse. Ratings can be surfaced via Power BI and reviewed periodically via Power Automate.

Of course, larger organizations typically want to combine the easy Vendor Rating concept with the actual non-conformance or quality order framework in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management. To take this concept to the next level and integrate with inventory and real Dynamics 365 tables, a small amount of customization is required to support the Power App.
