Dynamics GP 2015 R2 Analytical Accounting Transaction Lists
We often get requests to create a SQL view and/or build a SmartList that shows GL transactions and the Analytical Accounting (AA) codes that have been assigned to them. In previous versions of Dynamics GP, the out-of-the-box AA SmartLists showed minimal information, and the lists contained only a single column for the AA Transaction Dimension Code. This made it difficult to analyze the data because of the volume of records when multiple dimensions are used on one transaction.
Now in Dynamics GP 2015 R2, the AA Transaction Lists show one column per Transaction Dimension Code, so if you use multiple dimensions on one transaction, the information can be seen in one record.
Here is an example of what the older versions would show:

As you can see in the above screenshot, there is only one column for the Transaction Dimension Code. That means that if you had a transaction with multiple Dimension Codes, you would see an additional record for each additional dimension code.
Here is an example of what Dynamics GP 2015 R2 will show:

In the Dynamics GP 2015 R2 screenshot, you can see a column for Assembly and a column for Project. Both of these are sample AA Transaction Dimension Codes. You can see in Journal Entry 3605 there are two Dimension Codes, and only one record in the SmartList query.
Another great addition to the AA Transaction Lists is the separation between Open transactions and Historical Transactions as you can see in the following screenshot:

This significantly reduces the volume of records in the SmartList, increases readability amongst users, and simplifies the work involved when exporting the lists to Excel to summarize or analyze the data.
