Introduction to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Video)

TRANSCRIPT

I’m Trevor from Encore, and today we’re going to be talking about Dynamics Suite 365. I’m going to be taking this from two points of view, first Microsoft’s vision for their business applications, and second, the actual product, its modules, and its features.

First, Microsoft’s vision. Microsoft has recently committed to delivering all their software solutions in the cloud, on a Software-as-a-Service model. This brings three main advantages, better access to data, automatic product upgrades, and monthly billing cycles. As a part of this commitment, Microsoft has made some changes to their existing Dynamics products, Dynamics AX and Dynamics CRM, and rebranded them Dynamics Suite 365.

Second, what is Dynamics Suite 365, what does it do? Dynamics Suite 365 is software that helps you manage your business in several areas, finance and operations, sales, customer service, marketing, field service, project service, retail, and talent or human capital management. At its most basic level, Dynamics Suite 365 is a combined ERP, Enterprise Resource Planning, and a combined CRM, Customer Relationship Management system. Dynamics Suite 365 is a consolidated database of all of your customers, financial transactions and your employees, and contains information about the relationships between them. Because it’s a Microsoft product, Dynamics Suite 365 is designed to work with the apps you already use, like Outlook and Office 365.
