At a recent presentation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for an expanding electrical company, we provided a potential solution for improving communication with their technicians that would reduce paper flow and the time spent invoicing.
What did this look like? We created a mobile work order and a health and safety checklist for their technicians. The solution would assist with the transfer of data to and from technicians consistently, improving the ability to measure and action on the data efficiently.
Through Dynamics 365 the business can record a customer’s call, schedule a qualified technician for the job, and provide a mobile work order and checklist to the technician that they will receive on their own mobile device. In turn, it will record the technician’s notes, log in-and-out times to a job site, provide notes for materials or other resources used, and confirm once the work order is complete. As this is all done online and on a technician’s mobile device, information is transferred instantly to admin/dispatching, giving them clear visibility into customer service requests, the status of service calls and the ability to invoice instantly rather than wait for paperwork.
