New Features for Copilot in Dynamics 365 Business Central

The introduction of Microsoft Copilot has transformed how you interact with Dynamics 365 Business Central. By harnessing the power of natural language queries, Copilot helps streamline your everyday tasks, enhancing your efficiency.

In this overview, we’ll explore Copilot’s functionality within Dynamics 365 Business Central and highlight some exciting new features.

Copilot in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Copilot uses natural language queries to help you navigate complex windows and menus in Dynamics 365 Business Central. With Copilot, you can submit queries using everyday language, such as:

“Provide me with the last three invoices that were over $100,000 in this customer group.”

Copilot interprets your request and retrieves the relevant data, saving you time and effort. Whether you’re in sales, marketing, or finance, Copilot enhances user experience, allowing you to focus on the most critical parts of your work.

New Features Included With Copilot in Dynamics 365 Business Central

To highlight some of the features available with Dynamics 365 Copilot in Dynamics 365 Business Central, I will briefly overview the latest features from a role-based perspective, focusing on sales, marketing, purchasing, and finance:

Sales and Marketing/Purchasing

Image Analyzer: When viewing Contact cards, Business Central’s image analyzer can detect a contact’s age and gender. This information is valuable for targeted marketing campaigns specific to demographics.

Marketing Text with Copilot: In Item Cards, Copilot assists in drafting marketing text based on specific item attributes. Users can fine-tune the generated content and choose the appropriate tone and format.

Although you have complete control over the AI content generated, reviewing Copilot-generated text is important to ensure accuracy.

Sales and Inventory Forecast: The fact box within an Item Card displays forecasts, including inventory and sales predictions. Azure AI powers these forecasts, which can be updated monthly to weekly, depending on your needs.

Sales/Accounts Receivables

Predictive Payments: Business managers can enhance their insights by incorporating a predictive payments tab into their role center. This feature highlights overdue sales invoices, enabling proactive action.

Within a Sales Quote, you can select the ‘Predict Payment’ action, and Business Central will provide a confidence score (low, medium, or high). Additionally, in Customer Ledger Entries, there’s a Late Payment Prediction section where you can view prediction time, confidence rating, and confidence score.

Finance

Cash Flow Forecasts: Business Central provides cash flow forecast functionality, helping organizations manage financial liquidity effectively. You can configure this setup in various ways to suit your users’ needs.

Bank Reconciliation with Copilot: Select “Reconcile with Copilot” to assist in reconciling bank transactions and streamlining financial processes.

With the feature “Transfer to G/L Account,” Copilot suggests which G/L accounts specific statements should go against.
