I’ve been part of many conversations with our on-premise Dynamics GP and Dynamics NAV clients about moving to Dynamics 365 Business Central. Questions often arise about functionality, technical analysis, and scenarios unique to the client. What Solution Areas Are Eligible?

The assessment is available to any Encore client on Dynamics GP or Dynamics NAV.

When clients are ready to begin planning their move to Dynamics 365, we highly recommend completing the Assessment. This isn’t a standalone service; it is integrated into how we support our clients who are ready to move to a cloud solution.

What’s Involved in the Assessment?

Encore’s Business Central Migration Assessment is comprised of 4 different parts. These include:

• Kickoff
• Technical Discovery
• Functional Discovery
• Final presentation

The kickoff meeting will outline the roles and responsibilities, discuss the assessment overview, timeline, and next steps.

During the discovery, the Encore team will examine the client’s technical situation and business processes, including reviewing existing configurations, reporting, customizations, and integrations.

Following discovery, we will analyze your technical and functional requirements and create a final presentation based on these findings. Part of this presentation will include looking forward to your desired state and discussing the value and business benefits that come with a move to Dynamics 365 Business Central. The presentation also includes an application presentation and a high-level investment overview.

What Are the Outcomes from the Assessment?

Encore will meet with the client to discuss the findings and present the final assessment report. This report will include a business objectives overview. This assessment prepares you for the next steps in your transition to Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The report will also include recommendations on the ideal migration approach and transition next steps.

We recommend that the key stakeholders and decision makers from the organization participate in the assessment. This means not only the end users of Dynamics GP or Dynamics NAV, but also individuals involved with the applications across the organization. This allows for a conversation about security and broader application discussion, for example.
