Power BI Apps for Dynamics 365 Business Central

Encore has developed an entry level Power BI app that can be implemented for out of the box Dynamics 365 Business Central data. It is a small investment to get a look at what Power BI can do, and to foster ideas on where you might want to take it within your business.

What are Power BI Apps?

Power BI Apps (formerly known as content packs) make it easy for report designers to create official packaged content of reports, dashboards, and visualizations. Once the apps are published by the designers, it makes it easy for a user to install the app either in the Power BI Service or on a mobile device. Once the app is installed, you don’t need to remember all the names of the different dashboards or reports, because they are all bundled together in the app.

Power BI Apps for Dynamics 365 Business Central

Encore Business Solutions has several Power BI apps specifically designed from Dynamics 365 Business Central. There are currently four areas represented: Finance, Sales, Purchasing, and Inventory.

The Finance app also includes financial statements (Balance Sheet/Income Statement) with a drill through capability that allows you to view the GL entries that make up these financial statement amounts. You can also apply filters for alternate date ranges. You’ll be able to see many metrics such as outstanding AR or AP, Inventory counts or open purchase orders from the various apps without having to go into Business Central.

How much do the Power BI Apps cost?

Encore’s Power BI Apps are $75 a month for a company-wide subscription, which includes the Finance, Sales, Purchasing, and Inventory apps. Installation and configuration are included, as well as any app upgrades, if you are a current subscriber. A Power BI Pro license is required for anyone that wishes to interact with these apps. If your business currently has Microsoft E5 licenses, Power BI is included in that so there is no additional licensing required. You also have the option of exporting the apps’ visuals to PDF, PowerPoint, and Excel.

How do you purchase the Power BI Apps?

You may purchase these apps through Microsoft AppSource or by contacting your Encore Account Representative.
