How to Send a Message to Users in Dynamics GP

As an administrator, you have the ability to send a message to users logged into Microsoft Dynamics GP, or create a task for specific users that will appear on their Homepage, under the To Do section.

  1. Open the Send Message window – Microsoft Dynamics GP | Tools | Utilities | System | Send Users Message
  2. Select the Users that you want to send the message to
  3. Mark the following options that you would like:
    1. Notification Message – for users that are currently logged in
    2. Task with Reminder
  4. In the Message section, type your comment.
  5. Click Send:

If you clicked on Notification Message, the users you marked will get a message pop up on their screen showing the comment that you wrote.  If you clicked on Task with Reminder, the users you marked will see a new task on their Home Page under the To Do section.

Here is an example of how the Task with Reminder option will appear on the users Home Page:
