Switching Company Accounts in Dynamics AX

A single Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation can include multiple legal entities. The legal entity that should open by default every time a user starts Microsoft Dynamics AX can be specified in the user options form.  To do so navigate to File -> Tools -> Options; and from the “General” tab -> “Options” fast tab select the start-up company per user next to “Start company accounts:”.

3 Ways to Access Another Company Account in Dynamics AX

• 1. On the address bar, click the first arrow in the address bar, and then select the legal entity to open.

• 2. On the status bar, click the identifier of the current legal entity, such as DAT, to open the Select company form. Select the legal entity to open, and then click OK.

Then select “New workspace” to open the second company form in a new window.  You are now capable of continuing to work in the current company.  Alternatively, hit ‘Ctrl’ + ‘W’ to open a new workspace.
