The Position

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Partner & Alliance Manager is responsible for developing strategic technology partnerships and directing partner-based activities. With initial efforts focused on increasing brand recognition within target partner markets, and supporting the ongoing relationship with various Microsoft organizations, the role is expected to evolve as the company grows and expands its partner network.

For opportunities generated via partner relationships, the Partner and Alliance Manager will work with assigned sales representatives and the VP, Business Development to ensure the needs of the partner, customer and Encore are aligned.

Highly engaged in the business community, particularly within the Microsoft partner ecosystem, you have exceptional communication skills and easily build rapport with people at all levels in an organization.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Effectively transition day-to-day sales activities with specific partner provided opportunities to various members of the Sales Team via the VP, Business Development.
  • Keep abreast of software licensing trends, cloud computing, managed services, service level agreements, recurring revenue streams.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem and technologies.
  • Maintain understanding of system integration, software development, deployment, and migration from legacy systems to new applications.
  • Familiarize yourself with company methodologies – Sales, Strategic Account Management, Partner Accounts.
  • Create, review, negotiate partner agreements.
  • Establish key performance indicators, measure performance and course correct as required to meet corporate objectives.
  • Actively use social media platforms to further engage in the business community.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or Information Systems.
  • Microsoft Certifications – Sales, Product Fundamentals, Project Management.
  • 3-5 years in sales / business development / partner management role.
  • 3-5 years conducting business reviews and delivering client / partner facing technology services.
  • 1-2+ years leading corporate initiatives.
  • 1-2+ years in Marketing and Brand Management is ideal.
  • An inherent understanding of the benefits of partnering.
  • Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications – preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Familiar with Customer Relationship Management application – preferably Microsoft D365.
  • Familiar with Power Platform and Cloud Computing.
  • Resourceful and creative at assessing and solving problems.
  • Adept at handling negotiations and escalations to fair and equitable resolution.
  • Confidence and enthusiasm are superior qualities.
  • Willing and able to travel; valid passport is required.
  • Must be resident of Canada or the United States and legally entitled to work in resident country.
  • Must be fluent in English – both verbal and written.
