The Position

Reporting to the Practice Lead, Project Management Office, the Project Coordinator role is a billable project-oriented position that will coordinate small projects from creation through completion. You will actively manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk to ensure projects are delivered successfully and meet expectations.

The ideal candidate will thrive on detail, accuracy and problem-solving. You are reliable, responsive, and proficient at addressing client concerns, even when the message may be difficult to deliver. Self-motivated with focus on continuous process improvement, you can be relied upon to get the job done quickly and completely, documenting as you go. Your ability to cut through the clutter to determine priorities while balancing client satisfaction with project challenges is a tremendous asset to the team.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Document and communicate project updates, critical issues, implications, and progress to clients and the Project Management Office.
  • Review and approve time and expense entries promptly to facilitate complete and accurate invoices.
  • Support Project Managers and assist with management of Advanced Solution Projects.
  • Prioritize competing project needs considering outstanding tasks, obstacles, budgets, deadlines, resource availability and skill sets while balancing client satisfaction and the organization’s profitability.
  • Coordinate issue resolution and / or delays to reduce project impact.
  • Contribute to development and improvement of PMO practice methodologies and processes.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or Information Systems from an accredited university or college preferred.
  • Project Management training such as CAPM, Scrum preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a project-based industry.
  • 2+ years’ experience preparing business / customer-facing documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft desktop applications, including MS Project.
  • General understanding of finance and accounting; project revenue, cost, profitability.
  • Detail and deadline oriented; analytical by nature.
  • Challenges the status quo to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conscientious about meeting expectations and delivers as promised.
  • Strong communication skills – written, oral and presentation.
  • Proven work ethic where “do the right thing” prevails.
  • Enthusiastic and approachable team player.
  • Willing and able to travel; valid passport required.
  • Must be resident of Canada or the United States and legally allowed to work in resident country.
  • Must be fluent in English – both verbal and written.
