Encore’s Not-for-Profit Series Acquired by Microsoft Business Solutions

WINNIPEG. MB, Canada – April 22, 2004 – Encore Business Solutions (Encore) announced today the completion of the acquisition of  their Not-for-Profit series of products by Microsoft Business Solutions. The Encore products acquired include Interfund Management, Encumbrance Management, Grant Management, eCommitments, Control Account Management, and two OEM products, Purchase Order Enhancement and Cash Flow Management. Microsoft Business Solutions will be integrating these products into the Microsoft Great Plains core product line, beginning with the upcoming 8.0 version.

Extending the not-for-profit accounting capability, the acquisition brings to Microsoft intercompany payables management and requisition management modules—all which Microsoft currently offers through a reseller agreement with Encore, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The next version of Microsofts Great Plains software—8.0, due this summer—will have the Encore code integrated to help MBS better pinpoint the public sector. The upgraded release will include applications for grant management, fund accounting and encumbrance, which tracks and monitors the commitment of funds prior to invoicing
