VIN Decoder App

Encore’s VIN Decoder Power Apps solution provides a simple way to scan a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and then decode it to extract the manufacturer’s vehicle specifications.

The canvas app leverages AI Builder Text Recognition and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle listing API (click here to see the API’s FAQ page) and saves data to Dataverse (formerly Common Data Service).

NOTE: You need an AI Builder license in order to scan and use the text recognition component of the app. Start or extend a trial or contact your administrator to upgrade. Alternatively, the VIN can be entered manually in the app.

VIN Decoder is an Easy to Use App

Open the canvas app and click on Scan a VIN:

Take a picture or upload an image of the VIN. Click the Submit button.

The manufacturer’s vehicle information will be displayed.

Click the Save button to save the information to Dataverse.
